Living in Querétaro

The experience of living with a Mexican family is an important component of these programs, giving students the opportunity to have greater exposure to the language and culture. In Mexico, the family is central to each individual's life and plays a significant role within Mexican society. The word “familia” refers to the entire extended family, not just the immediate.

Each participant is placed individually with a family that has been carefully selected and prepared for the program. Students are provided with a private room and a key to the house. Participants eat their meals with the family, except when away on field trips and optional excursions.

Insurance

All students on this program are enrolled in a mandatory health and accident insurance plan. Information regarding comprehensive insurance will be provided during the OUS orientation.
