The Oregon University System (OUS) - Denmark exchange program provides a unique opportunity for you - as an undergraduate or graduate student - to take classes taught in English at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) during summer, fall, winter/spring, or the academic year. The CBS offers a traditional business curriculum (accounting, business law, finance, information technology, management, marketing, operations, organization, strategy, and more), economics courses, and limited offerings in American studies, area studies, communication, languages, and political science. A graduate internship in international entrepreneurship may also be available. For a list of courses, see the CBS web page http://www.cbs.dk/intoff/, updated in May of each year.
You will be integrated into the regular academic program of the institution with Danish and other international students, not isolated with a group of Americans. Since group and project work are major elements of the academic experience at CBS, you’ll get to know your classmates very well. You’ll definitely be working in a multinational environment!
Depending on how many courses you take, you should receive approximately the same number of credits from your program in Copenhagen as you would being a full-time student in Oregon. (Special considerations must be noted for spring semester students.) You will be registered at your home campus in the OUS (or at an OUS partner institution) and will receive academic credit from that institution. You should consult with your academic adviser and Campus Contact to determine how CBS course work will integrate with your home university curriculum requirements.
The OUS requires that you attend the day-long pre-departure orientation that covers the academic, administrative, financial and cultural information necessary for successful participation. Upon arrival in Copenhagen, you will participate in a one week orientation at the CBS
Established in 1917, the Copenhagen Business School enrolls approximately 15,000 students, one-third of them at the graduate level, making the CBS one of the three largest business schools in northern Europe. Classes are held at several locations throughout the city. The school’s state of the art library is well equipped with a wide range of publications and electronic media. Oregon students are integrated into a large international student population at the CBS. Visit the Copenhagen Business School website at http://www.cbs.dk/intoff/.
Housing is arranged through the International Office at the CBS. Students may live in homes, private apartments or residence halls. Cooking facilities are available in all housing options or students may eat very inexpensively in university dining halls.
You will be assisted through the application and orientation process by staff of the OUS International Programs Office working in conjunction with your university’s Campus Contact and the staff of the CBS. Upon arrival in Copenhagen, you will be assisted by a CBS “buddy,” a Danish student who will meet you and help orient you to the city and university. Throughout your stay, you will receive academic and advising support from the CBS International Office.

The Oregon University System seeks to make the Copenhagen Business School program as affordable and accessible as possible. For the 2007-08 academic year, the program fee for resident undergraduates is $1,728 for the six-week summer program; $2,632 for fall; $3,795 for winter/spring; and $6,329 for the academic year. Fees for the 2008-09 programs will be set in May 2008. Non-resident and graduate students pay higher fees.
Included in the program fee are:
‡ Academic and administrative fees
‡ On-site support through CBS International
‡ Orientation expenses
‡ Health and accident insurance
Room and board costs are not included in the program fee due to the wide range of housing options and costs. The program fee does not include airfare, visa expenses, your campus-based fees and personal expenses such as local transportation, textbooks, laundry, recreation (including travel), personal supplies and incidental expenses. See http://oregonabroad.ous.edu for the range of comprehensive costs.
You can finance your exchange program in Denmark in many ways. A listing of available local and national scholarships can be found at http://oregonabroad.ous.edu in addition to links to resources on your campus. Most forms of financial aid, such as grants or loans for which you are eligible on your home campus, may be applied to the program. Veterans’ benefits may also be applied.
This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students in business, economics, public affairs, and international studies.
To be eligible, you must meet these minimum requirements by the time you participate:
‡ Undergraduates: 3.00 cumulative GPA and junior standing
‡ Graduate students: good academic standing at your home institution
There is no language requirement. You may obtain an application form and instructions from the international education office on your campus (see Campus Contacts) or at http://oregonabroad.ous.edu. Early application is encouraged.
